The EPS-TOPIK Exam Format, Explained

EPS-TOPIK (the Test of Proficiency in Korean for the Employment Permit System) is the Korean-language test HRD Korea uses to screen foreign workers applying for an E-9 employment visa. Unlike the general TOPIK test, it isn't primarily academic — it's built around the Korean you'll actually need on a factory floor, a construction site, or in a warehouse.

The exam is a computer-based test (CBT) split into two back-to-back sections: Listening and Reading. Every question is multiple-choice, and both sections lean heavily on workplace scenarios — a supervisor giving an instruction, a coworker asking for help, a safety warning posted on a wall.
