A suggested order for studying, common mistakes other candidates make, and where to find official information.

A suggested order
1. Build vocabulary daily
Start with Book 1's Greetings and Numbers & Time chapters. Ten to fifteen minutes a day, reviewed consistently, beats occasional long sessions.
2. Learn grammar alongside vocabulary
Each chapter's grammar points are chosen to work with that chapter's vocabulary — study them together, not separately.
3. Practice listening and reading every week
The exam tests comprehension, not memorization. Use the Listening and Reading pages regularly, not just before the exam.
4. Quiz yourself chapter by chapter
Use the Practice Quiz page after finishing each chapter to check what's actually sticking.
5. Move to full exam sets closer to test day
Once you're comfortable with individual chapters, full-length Exam Sets (coming soon) simulate real exam conditions.
Avoid These
Common mistakes
- Starting to study only a few weeks before the exam, instead of building vocabulary and grammar steadily over time.
- Focusing only on Listening or only on Reading — the exam tests both, and workplace Korean shows up in both sections.
- Never practicing on an actual computer-based test interface before exam day, which can cost time and cause avoidable mistakes.
- Submitting incomplete, expired, or incorrectly formatted documents — always double-check the current round's exact requirements.
- Relying on unofficial agents or brokers who charge unnecessary fees — all official EPS steps are handled through DoFE and HRD Korea's own channels.
- Not preparing for the Skill Test when the target sector requires one, and treating the CBT exam as the only hurdle.
- Assuming a passing score guarantees a job — passing puts you on the roster, but employer selection is a separate step.
