How to Study Korean Vocabulary When You're Short on Time

Most EPS-TOPIK candidates aren't studying full-time — they're fitting it in around work, family, and everything else. That changes what 'effective studying' looks like. Long study sessions are hard to sustain; short, repeated ones aren't.

Group new words by theme, not by list order. Learning 공장 (factory), 기계 (machine), and 안전모 (safety helmet) together, in one workplace scene, sticks better than memorizing them alphabetically.

Say the example sentence out loud, not just the word. EPS-TOPIK tests listening comprehension in context, so practicing words inside full sentences — the way our Vocabulary page presents them — builds the skill you'll actually be tested on.

Revisit yesterday's words before adding today's. A five-minute review before bed or during a commute does more for long-term retention than an extra 30 minutes cramming new material.

Keep a small, consistent block of time — even 15 minutes a day, at the same time, is more effective than an occasional two-hour session.
